The Surgical Services Department receives patients for same day and extended stay surgical procedures, one day diagnostic procedures, the infusion of medications, and blood transfusions. Our pre-op routine involves a patient assessment, pre-op education, and any pre-op preparations including starting IVs, administering antibiotics, etc. Post-op care includes monitoring of vital signs, discharge instructions, return appointments, and follow up discharge phone calls.

In addition to general surgical procedures, one rapidly expanding area at the Surgical Services Department is our ability to provide patients with treatment, recovery, and discharge to home the same day

Same Day surgery pre-op evaluations can be performed prior to the day of scheduled outpatient surgery. Pre-op evaluations allow nurses to collect information, perform tests, and explain the surgical process to the patient. We also offer the convenience of preadmission, which is located on the first floor.
