Frequently Asked Questions about Holzer Home Care

Do I have the right to choose my home health agency?

Definitely! It is your right to choose your home health care agency. When your physician orders home health, please remember that it is your right to decide which agency you want to provide your services. We hope you choose Holzer Home Care Solutions!

Do I need a physician’s order to obtain home health?

Yes. A physician’s order is required for home health services. It is best for you to contact your physician directly when possible. However, Holzer Home Care can assist you if needed in contacting your physician.

What is the difference between skilled and non-skilled home care services?

Skilled nursing, speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy are all skilled services. If you qualify for skilled services, you may also receive a personal care aide 2-3 times a week to assist with bathing.

Non-skilled services include assistance with bathing and meal preparation. Unfortunately, non-skilled services are not covered by Medicare certified home health agencies, such as Holzer Home Care. Fortunately, Holzer Medical Center also provides non-skilled services through Holzer Extra Care, which offers a variety of personal care, homemaking, and housekeeping services.

Do I need to be homebound to receive home health services?

In order to receive services through the Medicare home health benefit, you must be homebound. However, this doesn’t mean you can never leave your home. Some other payor sources do not require patients to be homebound. Please Contact Holzer Home Care if you have any questions regarding your homebound status.

Testimonials from Holzer Home Care Patients

We our very proud of our record of service. We treat every patient with respect and dignity.  We treat our patients like they are our family!

  • “All I can say is, the therapists who came to my house were great, sweet and friendly. Did their work well and became like one of the family. I miss them very much.”

  • “The two lady nurses that came in to my home were greatly appreciated. Always on time. Never in a hurry to rush in or out. It seems that everything was done with both personal and professional care. If I need your services again, I would request, if possible, to have the same two nurses. God bless them both!”

  • “Had very nice assistants and nurses working with me. Tracy (RN) was good to explain what to do for my sutures in getting them to heal and Paul (Physical Therapist) was excellent in telling me what exercises to do and just what to expect as things progressed. Laura (PTA) was so nice and helped me get those exercises working.”

  • “The nurse Sharon was great, as was Amber the therapist. I thank them very much.”

  • “It was a pleasure to have Lisa (RN) and Shawn (PTA) in our home. We enjoyed them very much. On a scale of 1 to 10, they would definitely be a 10. Thank you.”

  • “Julie (RN) and Natalie (RN) were great. Made my husband very comfortable. Excellent nursing skills. Wonderful service. Glad you are there.”

  • “Lisa (RN) did a wonderful job. If I need your services again I want Lisa to come. Thank you very much.”

  • “Fran (ST), Faye (Home Health Aide), Opie (PTA) and Kathryn (OT) are all wonderful, caring, supportive, and very good at the job they do. They should be praised and praised again for the wonderful things they do.”

  • “Amy (RN) is very efficient. It would be hard to improve on perfection. She was a ray of sunshine and she will be very much missed.”
