Located at 380 Colonial Drive in Bidwell, OH, Holzer Senior Care Center has been providing medical, nursing, and rehabilitation therapies to both short-term and long-term residents since 1995. The staff of HSCC is dedicated to addressing the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs of each resident in a clean and safe environment. To achieve this, our interdisciplinary team combines outstanding technical skills with a caring and compassionate approach. Licensed by the Ohio Department of Health, Holzer Senior Care Center participates in both the Medicare and Medicaid programs. We have a history of excellent survey results from the Ohio Department of Health, and we take pride in providing the highest level of quality care to our residents.   Medical Support

Holzer Senior Care Center is a seventy (70) bed facility under the direct supervision of a Medical Director, who helps provide the latest in high acuity care. Residents of Holzer Senior Care Center may use the services of the Center's Medical Director, or continue under the direct care of their own physician. A trained nursing staff is on duty twenty-four (24) hours a day, every day.

Senior Care Rehabilitation Services

Our restorative nursing care program is an ongoing service to the Center's residents. A wide range of specialized therapy programs enables many residents to resume their former lifestyles as they become more independent.

Holzer Senior Care Center offers a complete range of rehabilitation services conducted by registered therapists. Physical, occupational, and speech therapies are available, with programs designed to meet the needs, tolerance levels, and capabilities of each resident.

Nutritional Services

At HSCC, nutritious, appetizing meals are served in a dining room setting that is both comfortable and attractive. Menus are planned by a registered dietician who specializes in meeting the needs of every individual.

Bedside service is available for those residents who are unable to attend meals in our dining room. Family and friends who wish to dine with their loved ones may purchase meal tickets for a minimal fee.

Social & Recreational Activities

Social and recreational opportunities at Holzer Senior Care Center are carefully arranged by a qualified and experienced activities coordinator. Our activities program is designed to be therapeutic, with special attention given to the physical, mental, spiritual, and social needs of each resident. We make every effort to provide activities that are both meaningful and enjoyable.

There is something for everyone. Among our most popular events are games, crafts, sing-alongs, religious services, picnics, and community outings. Each resident is encouraged to participate in whatever activities provide fulfillment and best serve his or her personal needs. Our solarium and courtyard areas offer quiet and restful environments to both individuals and groups.

Senior Care Accommodations

We believe a comfortable homelike setting plays major role in restoring health and well-being. The rooms at Holzer Senior Care Center are spacious and sunny, with windows that provide an abundance of natural light. Residents are encouraged to decorate their rooms with favorite personal belongings, such as quilts, pillows, and pictures.

The room rate at Holzer Senior Care Center is all-inclusive. No additional charges are made for personal grooming items or laundry service. The attractive solarium areas are always available for the enjoyment of residents, their families, and friends.

Hospice Care

Holzer Hospice is a licensed, certified hospice program. It provides services both in the home and in contracted nursing home agencies to patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Medical symptom management by the patient's attending physician is offered, along with the services of an interdisciplinary team of skilled practitioners and volunteers.

The service area for Holzer Hospice includes Gallia, Jackson, Meigs, and portions of Vinton and Lawrence Counties in Ohio.

Our services are designed to support both the individual and their families through elements of physical, psychological, social, and spiritual care. These services are provided by a team of professionals whose philosophy is one of care and remaining true to the original meaning of the word “hospice:” a place of shelter on a difficult journey.
