Holzer Medical Therapy Center in Gallipolis

Located in the Holzer Medical Center at 100 Jackson Pike in Gallipolis, the Therapy Service Department occupies an Acute Care office on the 5th floor and an Outpatient Services unit on the ground floor near the Ambulatory Surgical Unit (ASU).

Individualized therapy sessions and flexible scheduling allow for speedy evaluations and quick entry into the system. Our patients include individuals with repetitive trauma injuries, cognitive-visual defects, age related degenerative disorders, patients recovering from orthopedic procedures, and those dealing with speech, communication, and swallowing disorders.

We offer Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Massage Therapy. Outpatient care is available for post-injury, post-surgery, and rehabilitation patients, to name a few.

The Therapy Center also provides orthopedic pathway classes, fitness and community education, support groups, and is very involved with wellness activities and the Arthritis Foundation, offering a Fibromyalgia support group monthly at the Hospital.

Our experienced therapists evaluate your condition and set individual goals to help improve your quality of life, whether it is in work, leisure, or basic self-care activities. Goals may include the decreasing of pain, improving balance and strength, better motion coordination, or improved muscle and joint functions.

In a recent outpatient survey, the Holzer Therapy Services Department received the highest rating of any department, and patient comments demonstrate a high level of customer satisfaction. All of our therapists complete continuing educational programs each year in order to better meet your needs.

The Therapy Service Department first began offering services in 1972 and currently has a staff in excess of 30 fulltime employees.

Insurance/Payment

A common misconception is that your insurance will not cover the therapy you require. While your insurance may have a coverage limit, most insurances are accepted for Medical Therapy Center services, including Aetna and Workers Compensation. Our departmental secretary will be happy to verify coverage for you prior to scheduling an appointment. No advance payment is required. The Hospital can also make arrangements for payment on your patient account.

If you do not have insurance, Holzer Business Office will work with you to work out a self-payment plan so that you can get the therapy that you need.
