Past, Present, and Future

Holzer Weight Loss Solutions recently held its Sixth Anniversary Reunion on November 5th.  Over 40 people were present to enjoy good food and great company with previous Weight Loss patients and staff members.
 
Testimonials that were given throughout the evening, included a surprise visitor, Richard Lake.  Lake had Roux en Y procedure performed three years ago and has lost a total of 190 pounds.  "I knew I was thinner, but didn't realize how much I had lost until I tried on my old overalls," stated Lake.
 
Belinda Price had surgery two years ago performed by Dr. Canady.  Before her procedure, she had considered quitting work due to her weight problem.  Walking from her office to her car would severely affect her breathing, causing her to wait 45 minutes before she could catch her breath to begin her drive home.  Her family considered her perfect the way she was, but she was convinced that a new beginning was needed.  Price has lost a total of 106 pounds and has fulfilled almost all of her goals set prior to surgery, which included: becoming a Hospice nurse, riding a motorcycle with her husband, roller-skating and riding scooters with her grandkids.  "Because of surgery, I am now able to work 40 plus hours a week and have a richer life with my family," stated Price.  "I am proud to be a part of such a life-changing event."
 
Another testimonial came from Marvin Pelfry.  Pelfry is now 66 years old, and states, "I have more energy now than I did at 35."  Prior to surgery, he weighed 378 pounds and is now 135 pounds lighter.  He's grateful that he decided to have the procedure, and adds that if any one follows the guidelines provided by the Holzer Weight Loss Solutions staff, they will be successful. "If you're serious about losing weight, go for it," he finished.
 
Altogether, the group that gathered at the reunion has lost over a ton, or 2000 pounds, of weight.  "The group that attended the reunion consisted of patients signing up for surgery, who have just completed surgery, and veteran surgery patients.  It was a great sample of individuals representing the past, present, and future of Holzer Weight Loss Solutions," stated Pam Dye, RN, Holzer Weight Loss Solutions.
 
Holzer Weight Loss Solutions opened October 31, 2001, as Holzer Comprehensive Weight Loss Center, offering Open Roux en Y for patients who were at least 100 pounds overweight.  The program has evolved into Holzer Weight Loss Solutions, and due to patient demand, is now offering Lap Band® procedures for the communities we serve.  To date, the staff has performed over 670 surgeries for those who are committed to leading healthier lives.
