Nurses at Holzer Center for Cancer Care
With a combined staff experience of 55 years in oncology services, the Chemotherapy Nurses at the Holzer Center for Cancer care dedicate themselves to making a difficult disease bearable for our patients and their family members.
Over 250 patients a month are welcomed by our nurses, who often utilize laughter as one of the many tools in administering chemotherapy with professionalism and compassion.
For some patients, there is no need to travel to the Cancer Center for their injections or lab work, as our branch sites are able to provide these services closer to home, reducing our patients’ travel time.

A Few Words from Our Staff
Prior to the development of the new Cancer Center, oncology nurses mixed their materials for chemotherapy sessions in a renovated bathroom. We only had 4 chairs in a room where there were no windows. The area was very crowded and we ran into each other a all the time. We’ve come a long way!
Today’s beautiful and state-of-the-art facility demonstrates to our patients how important they are to us. Our beautifully designed Cancer Center is airy and light, with windows looking out over the healing garden. The garden is beautiful in every season. The patients enjoy watching the birds nest, and the hummingbirds flutter from flower to flower.
Of course, our patients have always known that they are the reason we stay in the field. We've had patients write poems about us ,we've attended weddings, met their new partners. Our patients are our second families. They know our stories and we know all about their families. We cry with them and laugh with them. It is a blessing that they let us share their lives and take the journey with them. Our chemotherapy nurses have proven to them many times over that we treat each patient as if they are a member of own family.
Testimonials
At the Holzer Center for Cancer Care, among our most treasured rewards are the kind words and endearing reactions of our patients:
“I actually like coming for my chemotherapy treatments.”
“The staff provides a wonderful support system.”
One patient actually cried when her treatments were over, because she wouldn't have to come into the chemotherapy area any longer.
