Express Care at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson

Services provided through Express Care meet urgent care medical needs, which include minor illness such as earaches and sore throats, minor lacerations, strains, and sprains.

Jackson's Express Care is located in the Medical Office Building located at 500 Burlington Road. Physicians and staff provide medical treatment from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., seven days a week.

Express Care is the non-acute section of the Emergency Department, located across from the Main Waiting Area and down the hall to the right of the Triage Waiting Area. Express Care takes care of life’s little emergencies. These emergencies can be treated quickly and efficiently in this patient care area.

In Express Care, you might have blood drawn for laboratory studies, x-rays ordered, stitches placed, and splints applied.

The medical provider will be a Physician who can write prescriptions and arrange for follow-up care with your regular doctor or a specialist. There is also a nurse waiting to help care for you.

Often a visit to Express Care is less complicated and may take less time than a visit to the acute care section of the Emergency Department.

If a condition should become more serious while in Express Care, a patient can be transferred to the Holzer Medical Center - Jackson Emergency Department, located directly next to the Medical Office Building.

Insurance/Payment

Most insurances, Medicare, and Medicaid are accepted. An urgent care co-payment applies to this service. Express Care offers a reduced rate for services that most insurances recognize.

Express care offers a physician who attends to the non emergent patients along with LPN’S. Express care provides 2 full time LPN’S and 2 Part-time LPN’s with one Per-diem LPN.

Location

In order to utilize the Express Care service, patients should enter through the front entrance of the Medical Office Building, located directly next to the hospital's Emergency Department.
