Our pharmacy staff is a vital component of the health care team, consulting with physicians and otherPharmacy health care professionals to ensure that you receive the appropriate medications and medication monitoring throughout your stay at Holzer Medical Center, Jackson.

The Department of Pharmacy provides pharmaceutical services for the acute care needs of our patients. The registered pharmacists assisted by trained technicians who work together to provide services to all Holzer Medical Center-Jackson departments. Pharmacists are available 24 hours a day to meet the needs of our patients and staff.

Pharmacy Services

Through the hospital's pharmacy computer system our pharmacists screen all medications ordered for hospitalized patients for indicated use, allergies, and drug interactions. Our advanced McKesson Horizon Meds Manag arketing and Community Relations Der® pharmacy computer system allows for the profiling and screening of all medications. Orders are sent from the nursing units to the pharmacy department electronically via McKesson's HMM Fax Imaging®. McKesson AcuDose-Rx® cabinets provide the storage and controlled access of medications on all our nursing units. Our state-of-the-art technology works alongside our trained pharmacy staff to provide the utmost level of patient safety and care.

Clinical services provided by the Department include renal drug monitoring, drug interaction monitoring, pharmacokinetic dosing, warfarin dosing, drug order review, information support for care providers, and medication education as requested for patients, families, and other care providers. The pharmacy is also active in evaluating medication use at Holzer Medical Center, Jackson through our ongoing program of medication use evaluations (MUEs).
