Holzer Home Care

Recovering from an illness, injury, or problem associated with aging often requires skilled nursing and medical therapy. Nevertheless, you prefer to remain in the comfort and familiar surroundings of your own home while recuperating.

When your physician has you consider skilled home care for yourself or a loved one, Holzer Home Care makes possible a complete range of professional health care services in your own home. Services include skilled nursing, home health aide services, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nutrition consultation, and hospice services. Our role is to help you improve your health.

Patients of all ages who require skilled care, are homebound, and have a physician’s referral may have their health needs met at home by a range of Holzer Home Care solutions. No prior hospitalization is necessary.

The experienced, caring therapists of Holzer Home Care are also members of the communities we serve and strive to provide each patient with outstanding care.

Holzer Extra Care

Holzer Extra Care offers a variety of personal care, homemaking, housekeeping, and respite services. Our Extra Care services do not require a doctor's order or medical need and are available to anyone who could use a little help around the home

Customized to fit your needs and schedule, services can be arranged for a few days or on a long-term basis. All care is provided by highly skilled, professional homemakers, companions, and personal care aides. Visits are planned and coordinated by a registered nurse. Holzer Hospice

Holzer Hospice is a licensed, certified hospice program providing in-home services and with contracted nursing home agencies to patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families. The program provides medical symptom management by the patient's attending physician in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team of skilled practitioners and volunteers.

Lifeline

Holzer Medical Center LIFELINE has served nearly 1500 subscribers in Gallia, Jackson, Vinton, Meigs, and Mason Counties since 1983 and currently serves some 375 subscribers. Lifeline provides a personal emergency response system for people of all ages, connecting you with the support of neighbors, friends, family, and emergency services. By pushing a button worn around the neck or wrist, subscribers have rapid and direct access to a trained Lifeline staff member.

For people with health limitations, physical challenges, and personal security concerns, Lifeline offers the security of 24-hour monitoring in the comfort of your own home.

Holzer Senior Outreach

Holzer Senior Outreach serves the aging in our community by providing isolated seniors with a reassuring telephone call or visit to ensure they are safe. We also work to ensure that prescriptions are being taken as indicated.

This free-of-charge program works hard to give you and your loved ones a sense of security and well-being.

A loan library is also available with information on various health-related topics for seniors to access.

Insurance/Payment

Most insurance providers recognize home care as a proven, cost-effective alternative to hospitalization. Home care service costs may be covered by Medicare, Medicaid, United Mine Workers, Veterans Administration, Worker’s Compensation, or other private insurance companies. We’ll work with you to determine your payment options, including self-pay, and file the necessary billing paperwork whenever possible.
