2025 Acute Care Nurse of the Year
Holzer Health System recently held a celebration to honor its quarterly acute care nurses and to name the 2025 Acute Care Nurse of the Year, Abby Cremeans. Abby graduated from Marshall University with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and began working at Holzer as an Inpatient Pediatrics nurse in the fall of 2023. Abby continues to work in Inpatient Pediatrics, and her hard work is instrumental within the health system. Abby is shown pictured at center with Nikki Hogan, BSN, RNC-EFM, Manager OB & Pediatrics, Holzer Health System, at left, and Brandon Coughenour, BSN, RN, Director of Acute Care Specialty Services, Holzer Health System, at right.
To be recognized as the Acute Care Nurse of the Year, the individual has demonstrated above and beyond care for his/her patients, commitment to the department, and compassion for our communities. These individuals are nominated quarterly and an overall winner for the year is chosen from those nominations.
When asked about working at Holzer, Abby shared, “Working at Holzer has been a great experience for me. It has provided me with resources and support to care for the pediatric population in our area. I have been blessed with an awesome manager and co-workers that are supportive. They provide a team-oriented working environment that allows us to give excellent care to the kids in our community. It has also given me the opportunity to not only care for people, but to meet a lot of amazing kids and their families. I have been positively impacted by all these people.”
Abby resides in Gallipolis with her three dogs, Marco, Maple, and Murphy. She enjoys spending time with her family and raising miniature donkeys, goats, and cattle on her family’s farm.
