Holzer Recognizes Jason Weaver with Community Service Award

Holzer would like to recognize Jason Weaver, AAS, Manager Clinical Education, Holzer Health System, for receiving the Dr. Charles Holzer Community Service Award. This is an annual award recognized through nomination of a Holzer employee who exemplifies our founding principle of giving back to the communities we serve and strengthening both internal and external teams for Holzer. Nominations to be submitted to the Holzer’s Reward and Recognition team and recipient decided upon through Senior Leadership.

Jason joined Holzer as a contract employee in 2010 and moved into a permanent employee position in 2012. He moved into his current position in January of 2021.

Jason’s nomination included the following statements, “Often as a healthcare worker, we fall into the hustle and bustle of what is expected when we provide care, but not Jason Weaver. He listens to his patient/customer. These individuals often encounter him at the most fragile and scary time of their life. Jason eloquently puts each patient at ease informing them of what to expect as they make their arrival to the hospital and safeguarding their life as if it were his own. As an educator, I have witnessed Jason stay late to accommodate schedules and even put on a class for one person, solely because they are unable to attend the group session. He goes out of his way to facilitate a positive and successful learning environment, always stopping to confirm that each student leaves confident in their abilities. However, the most honorable attribute to his teaching will always be his patience. If you have difficulty understanding something, Jason quickly adapts and finds a way to make the material match your own personal learning style. As an educator that is a crucial tool for instructing those with different educational backgrounds and learning needs. More importantly, as a Holzer employee, by ensuring staff competence, he directly impacts our patient experiences and outcomes.”

“I’m honored to have been recognized with the Dr. Charles Holzer Community Service Award,” shared Jason. “I love being a part of the Holzer family and our communities. I enjoy giving back and helping my friends and neighbors through our local organizations.”

Jason and his wife, Susan, reside in Mercerville and are the proud parents of three daughters, one son and have six grandchildren. In addition to his position at Holzer, Jason is a local Paramedic with Gallia County Emergency Medical Services and the Fire Chief for Gallia County District 2 Fire Department.
