Holzer Recognizes PHIL Award Recipient
Holzer is pleased to recognize Seth Riley. BS, RRT, Respiratory Therapist at our Jackson Hospital, with the Pulmonary Health and Illnesses of the Lungs (PHIL) Award. This annual award is part of The FACES Foundation's program to recognize exemplary respiratory care. The PHIL Award is the only nationally recognized hospital-based program that honors outstanding respiratory therapists, as nominated by patients, their family members, and other caregivers.

Seth is a graduate of the University of Rio Grande and began his career at Holzer in 2018. When asked about the PHIL award, he replied, “I’m honored to recognized. It means a lot to be nominated and awarded with the PHIL award.” He continued about working for Holzer, “Growing up, we always used Holzer services when the need arose. I love now being a part of this healthcare organization, providing care close to home for the members of our communities.”
Annually, Holzer selects one respiratory therapist from the nominations received. During an award presentation, the honoree is presented with a certificate and award sculpture entitled Appreciation, which was adapted by creator MK Shannon especially for The PHIL Award.
“We are proud to partner with The FACES Foundation to recognize and honor our outstanding respiratory therapists,” said Luke Rice, MBA, RRT, Director of Respiratory Care Services, Holzer Health System. “Seth is a remarkable therapist who takes pride in providing great care. He embodies our mission vision and values, and we are proud to have him as part of our team. We are honored to recognize him as this year’s PHIL award winner.”
Seth and his wife, Tara, reside in Wellston, Ohio. His hobbies include hiking, fishing, and working on their hobby farm of rabbits and chickens.
