Inpatient OB

The Holzer Birthing & Women's Center inpatient OB unit is located at our main campus in Gallipolis, OH, on the third floor, and features:

• 14 beds postpartum
• 5 labor rooms
• 2 triage beds
• 1 operating room
• 24/7 provider coverage

Our Team

Our highly skilled unit works in a fast-paced environment, and is based on a team approach that is constantly changing to AWHONN, AAP, and Perinatal guidelines.

The inpatient OB unit consists of:

• RNs
• LPNs
• Surgical techs
• Nursing externs
• Unit secretaries

All nurses have MFTI (Maternal Fetal Triage Index) for Triage patients with 2 Triage nurses on staff.

Staffing Ratios:

• Postpartum: 1:3
• Labor inductions: 1:2
• Specialty care in labor: 1:1

Certification

Certification is required for the speciatly unit with 2 years of experience:
Maternal-Newborn, Inpatient Obstetrics, or C-EFM
